The barcodethat cannot be copied.
Non-Reproducible Barcode (NBR) is a patented, physically non-clonable mark cryptographically bound to a unique serial. Prints on your existing lines. Verifies on any smartphone. Cannot be duplicated by any scanner, camera or printer.
What is NBR
A patented mark that fuses physical entropy with digital signatures.
NBR looks like a barcode, but every impression is unique at the micron scale. That physical fingerprint is anchored to a signed serial in the cloud — the only way to produce a valid NBR is to be the brand printing it.
Physically non-clonable
Every mark carries microscopic entropy created at print time — impossible to reproduce by scan-and-reprint.
Cryptographically bound
Each serial is signed with a rotating enterprise key. Tampering breaks the signature, not just the image.
Universally scannable
Any smartphone camera verifies in under a second — no app install, no proprietary scanner, no RFID.
NBR vs QR Code
A QR code is a link. NBR is a proof.
- Reproducibility
- Physical entropy makes each mark one-of-a-kind
- Security layer
- Cryptographic signature bound to serial
- Scan verification
- On-device signature check + cloud attest
- Offline check
- Yes — signature validates without network
- Hardware needed
- Standard printer, standard smartphone
Why copies fail
The moment a counterfeiter reprints, the mark stops being an NBR.
Photocopiers, phone cameras and forgers' presses can only see the surface. NBR carries entropy below that surface — micro-structure introduced at the moment of printing that no reprint can preserve.
- Signature verifies against enterprise key
- Micro-entropy matches issued serial
- Reprint distorts micro-features by 4–11%
- Signature check fails on-device in < 1s
Smartphone verification
Point, capture, verified — in under one second.
Scan
Camera captures the NBR in a single frame — no app needed.
Decode
On-device decoder reads the serial and embedded micro-features.
Validate
Signature is checked against the brand's rotating public key.
Result
Branded verification page shows in under a second.
Offline verification
Works on the factory floor, in transit, at the border.
The NBR signature is validated on the device against a cached public key, so authenticity holds even with zero network. When the phone comes back online, scan events sync to analytics.
What NBR isn't
Zero new hardware. Zero vendor lock-in.
No special printers
Retrofits onto flexo, digital and inkjet lines you already run.
No RFID tags
No chips, no antennas, no per-unit BOM increase.
No holograms
Holograms photocopy. NBR won't — and costs a fraction to apply.
No proprietary scanners
Any modern smartphone camera is the reader. No app install.
Enterprise architecture
Five layers, one platform, wired to the systems you already run.
Sub-second REST + on-device signature validation. Public verification page or embedded SDK.
- p99 under 400ms globally
- Offline signature check
- Branded scan experiences
